Before you even think about licensing, ask yourself:
Is your business actually yours? I mean legally, officially, documented-on-paper yours. You'd be shocked how many entrepreneurs can't definitively answer this. Are your operations documented in a way that someone else could replicate them? Or is everything still living in your head?
Does your brand exist beyond you? Could someone recognize your business without you standing next to it? Is there a consistent identity that translates across every touchpoint? Or are you still the secret sauce that holds everything together?
Who actually owns what you've created? This one's a killer. That logo you love? That system you developed? That content you've been publishing? If you can't prove ownership, you can't license it. Period.
The business landscape has fundamentally shifted. The old model of grinding harder to grow bigger is breaking people. Meanwhile, the smartest entrepreneurs are building once and monetizing multiple times through strategic licensing.
But they're not winging it. They're following a framework. They're checking boxes most people don't even know exist. They're building with the end in mind.
